When I woke up this morning before my prayer was through I promised that I’d be a light that only shines for you. Though as my day grew longer the sun began to fall, my promises I did not keep. I’m only human after all.
At times I’m full of anger and at times I’m full of shame when I take all the glory and forget to praise your name. When vanity take control of me on you Lord’s who I call, for I cannot change on my own. I’m only human after all.
And I am only human, that’s all that I can be. The only reason I’m unique is you’ve forgiven me. So many times I stumble, so many times I fall. It’s through these times I realize I’m only human after all.
I tell you that I’m sorry and I know you understand, this sinful nature inside me is inside every man. I promise I’ll try harder, I vow that I’ll stand tall until my humble flame declines. I’m only human after all.
And I am only human, that’s all that I can be. The only reason I’m unique is you’ve forgiven me. So many times I stumble, so many times I fall. It’s through these times I realize I’m only human after all.
So Lord please walk beside me and remind me everyday that you’re the perfect potter and I am merely clay. And when my selfishness becomes a hindrance to your call, give me wisdom to help me understand. I’m only human after all.
And I am only human, that’s all that I can be. The only reason I’m unique is you’ve forgiven me. So many times I stumble, so many times I fall. It’s through these times I realize I’m only human after all.
