NEW KITCHEN WINDOW

Sunday, July 09, 2006

Ken installed one of the new windows in the kitchen! What really excites me about the new windows, are that they are the tilt-out kind, so I will be able to wash the outsides of them any time I want! He's really doing a great (but slow) job on the new kitchen. He completely gutted it, put in new wiring, plumbing, lights, insulation, etc... I feel so bad for him; this project is killing him, but he plods on.

Which leads us right back to what is wrong with kids in today's world. When I was first married, I and my sisters each made a point of going over to my mother's house at least once a week. My husband worked nights for a while, and if I got bored sitting at home I would even go see my mother-in-law. If I saw something that needed to be done at their houses (like doing dinner dishes, taking out the garbage, etc...), I got up and did it without being asked. When we first moved in here I asked Chris a lot to come help Ken and it was very rare that he would show up. He did come not too long ago to help lift a beam into place, but only because we had just helped him get his new car and he felt obligated. Ken's own son is in the house construction business and he has never once offered to help his dad.
