Katy went to the vet this morning to have her teeth cleaned. They called it 'oral surgery' because they had to put her under, plus they get to charge more when it is called surgery.
For a few years now, she has had a horrible slimy discharge draining out of her mouth. We've had different vets look at it and two of them gave her antibiotics, which helped for a while, and the other two wanted us to send her to a specialist.
Our new vet said her teeth were so built up with tartar and it had become infected. I was really worried about putting her under because of her age and her enlarged heart, but she came out of it wonderfully, and they didn't even have to pull any more teeth. The slime is gone and her breath is back to normal. Yea!!!
