HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO KAIRI

Since Kairi's first birthday fell on a weekday, her birthday party was held the Saturday before.

We arrived to a full house; Grandma and Grandpa Hughes, Grandma West and her friend Jimmy; Auntie Lisa, Uncle Randy, Cousins Cierra and Madyison; Great Grandma Reba; Mommy's friends' Emmy, her little boy Donovan, and Emmy's mom Gloria; Haley and her three babies, Logan, Jadynn, and Kaylynn.

Grandpa West, aka Poppa Tom was away on a business trip and couldn't be with us, but he sent his love along with some very nice presents. Jamie saved Poppa Tom's present for last and when she started to open it, she announced to everyone that it was from Poppa Tom. For the next few minutes Jamie made a point of mentioning Poppa Tom's name numerous times, and each time she did, the whole family would yell out: "POPPA TOM". Ken and I were stunned. It sounded like they were trying to embarrass Jimmy, and from the look on his face, they did a good job.

I can't even begin to list all the presents she got; it was a ton of stuff!!!

Kairi was walking so well; almost on the verge of running! Mommy bought her a separate little cake for her to dig into, and boy, did she! It was a wonderful afternoon!!
