I don't get to see my granddaughter as often as I would like, so when ever I am asked to babysit, I jump at the chance.
Christopher brought Kairi down to our house yesterday and he stayed for a while to help Ken put up a supporting beam in the kitchen we are remodeling. He was a big help.
The dogs were so excited to see her! Shooter and Katy are very protective of her;
Sherlock is usually just curious; sniffing at her and then going to lay down for a nap.
After he left, Kairi and I spent most of the day exploring the house. Now that she is walking, she takes full advantage of her independence. We walked in a circle through the kitchen, dining room, entryway, and living room about 10 times.
She loves to dance, so I went to disney.com and let her boogie on my lap. The cartoons on the t.v. didn't interest her very much, so I sat down with her and tried to read her 'The Pokey Little Puppy'. She lasted through about 5 pages and that was all her attention span could take. We played 'patty cake' with both her hands and her feet; found the disney web site again.
I put a mattress on the floor for her and I to sleep on (didn't want her falling out of bed on my watch!). She slept like a log, but I spent most of the night with one eye open to make sure she was ok.
I had bought her a darling bikini and I was going to take her swimming right after lunch, but Chris and Jamie showed up to pick her up. I almost cried when she left!
