KAIRI'S FIRST SLEEPOVER

Kairi had her first sleep over at our house last night. Daddy and mommy's first night alone without the baby turned out to be worrisome for all parties involved.
I jokingly told daddy ahead of time that mommy wasn't allowed to call every half hour to check up on her and I think she took me literally. She didn't call at all, but she did admit the next day that she really really wanted to. (She has no sense of humor)

They dropped her off at our house with almost the complete nursery in tow. Mommy told me that Kairi usually goes to sleep around 11:00 pm and will sleep through the night. She fell asleep at 7:30 pm. I was so sure that she would wake up before 11:00, but she never did. I finally changed her diaper around 11:30, thinking that would wake her, but it didn't.

We put her in her bassinet in the living room and I sat on the couch all night waiting for her to wake up. I was afraid to go to sleep, fearing that she would wake up and I wouldn't hear her. Duh, I was less than a foot away from her!

Our three dogs, Katy, Sherlock, and Shooter, are not used to being around other people, so they jump up on strangers a lot. For this night, we knew we couldn't keep them locked up in a bedroom the whole night, so we just put them on the other side of the baby gate, giving them room to roam the front of the house. They had decided they wanted to see the baby and were quite vocal about it.

We finally decided to introduce them to Kairi one by one. We were amazed at how well behaved they were around her! All they wanted to do was to look at her.

Daddy and mommy picked her up today and I spent the rest of the day sleeping. I can hardly wait until Kairi can toddle around the house and play with us!
